ABOUT
My background is rooted in art and filmmaking, along with a sustained interest in psychology and philosophy.
Those influences shape how I approach a space.
I begin by understanding the person I am designing for: how they live, what they value, and what holds meaning.

I'm Ramona
Pettygrave Shah
I was born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where I continue to live and work today.
My background includes formal study in filmmaking, followed by years working in hospitality and contributing to the design of restaurant spaces. Those experiences shaped how I understand both atmosphere and use—how a space is perceived, and how it is lived in over time.
When I’m not working, much of my time is spent at home with my family—in the garden with my children, tending our chickens and ducks, or out on the Essex River by boat with the gang and our dog.

My early consulting in the hospitality industry shaped how I think about movement, function, and use over time.
Growing up around the trades instilled a respect for execution and detail that continues to inform my work.
I approach interiors through composition and atmosphere, but each decision is grounded in how the space will be lived in daily.
